OVERVIEW

 

Tazobactam is a compound that inhibits the action of bacterial β-lactamases. It is combined with theextended spectrum β-lactam antibiotic piperacillin in the drug piperacillin/tazobactam (trade name Tazocin; also Zosyn, Piprataz). It is one of the preferred antibiotic treatments for community-acquired pneumonia(CAP) caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It broadens the spectrum of piperacillin by making it effective against organisms that express β-lactamase and would normally degrade piperacillin.


 

USES & EFFECTIVENESS

1, Used as an antioxidant, catalyst and biochemical reagent.; 2, Used as pharmaceutical intermediates. Electronic chemical: 3, Used as intermediate of the medicine fenalol and also used as a stabilizer for PVC.
