OVERVIEW

    L-valine is white monoclinic crystal or crystalline powder. It is colorless plate-like or flake like crystal when re cleaned with ethanol aqueous solution. Odorless, with special bitterness. Stable to heat, light and air. Soluble in water, almost insoluble in ethanol and ether. It is difficult to separate from leucine. It is an essential amino acid. L-valine is one of branched chain amino acids (BCAA), which cannot be synthesized by animals themselves and must be taken from diet to meet their nutritional needs.
