OVERVIEW

        L-5-hydroxytryptophan (L-5-HTP) is a natural amino acid and dietary supplement. It can be used as antidepressant, appetite inhibitor and sleep adjuvant. It is a precursor of neurotransmitter serotonin and an antagonist of reserpine. L-5-hydroxytryptophan (L-5-HTP) can be used to study fibromyalgia, myoclonus, migraine and cerebellar ataxia.

USES & EFFECTIVENESS

       It can inhibit appetite, reduce fat intake, reduce anxiety, control mood, promote sleep, and promote the health of mood and nervous system. It can be  used as antidepressant, appetite inhibitor and sleep adjuvant. It is the precursor of neurotransmitter serotonin and the antagonist of reserpine. L-5-hydroxytryptophan (L-5-HTP) can be used to study fibromyalgia, myoclonus, migraine and cerebellar ataxia. It can be used as a substrate for L-aromatic amino acid decarboxylase.
