OVERVIEW

Ropenem is a carbapenem antibiotic. It has a wide antibacterial spectrum, strong antibacterial activity and is resistant to a variety of antibiotics β- Lactamase and human renal dehydropeptidase-1 (DHP-1) are stable and have strong antibacterial activity against Gram-negative bacteria, especially Pseudomonas aeruginosa. In addition, meropenem has less toxicity to kidney and central nervous system, which makes it widely used in clinic. Meropenem is widely used in clinic and has high clinical value in the treatment of infection in various parts.

USES & EFFECTIVENESS

This is the second generation of carbapenem antibiotics. It is stable to human dehydropeptidase - I and does not need to be combined with renal dehydropeptidase inhibitors. It has a wide antibacterial spectrum and strong antibacterial activity. It has good antibacterial activity against Gram-negative and positive bacteria, aerobic bacteria and anaerobic bacteria. The antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus and Enterococcus was slightly weaker than imipenem; Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus and Enterococcus faecalis are resistant to this product. The antibacterial activity against Enterobacteriaceae was 2 ~ 32 times stronger than imipenem, and the antibacterial activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa was 2 ~ 4 times higher than imipenem. Some Mycobacterium avium, incidental Mycobacterium and Legionella pneumophila are also sensitive to this product. The antibacterial activity against anaerobic bacteria was similar to imipenem. For most β- Lactamase is stable. It is suitable for the treatment of severe infections such as pulmonary infection, urinary tract infection and abdominal infection caused by a variety of bacteria. It is not suitable for the treatment of drug-resistant staphylococcus aureus infection.
