OVERVIEW

    Baclofen, also known as beclofen, beclofen and liluoxing, is a drug with the names of Jishu, leoresin and chlorophenylaminobutyric acid γ- Aminobutyric acid derivative, an antispasmodic drug, is a skeletal muscle relaxant and sedative acting on the brain and spinal cord of the central nervous system. It inhibits the release of excitatory amino acids such as glutamate and aspartate by stimulating receptors, so as to inhibit the transmission of monosynaptic and polysynaptic reflex in the brain and spinal cord of the central nervous system, so as to play a spasmolysis role.

USES & EFFECTIVENESS

     GABA is the main inhibitory transmitter in the brain and spinal cord of the central nervous system, but it can not penetrate the blood-brain barrier. GABA changes into baclofen by connecting para chlorophenyl to carbon atom, and changes from hydrophilic substance to lipophilic substance, so it can penetrate the blood-brain barrier. The main function of this product is to activate GABA receptors, inhibit the release of excitatory amino acids such as aspartate and glutamate through synapses, make K⁺ and GA⁺² ions in neurons outflow, produce hyperpolarization, reduce the transmission of monosynaptic and polysynaptic reflex, promote the normal activity of interneurons and reduce the activity of motor neurons, So as to alleviate the spasticity of skeletal muscle caused by pyramidal tract damage, reduce muscle tension and promote the recovery of motor function.
